How TRUE!
An ode to Blue, South Uist, Outer Hebrides, Scotland

This is a beautiful shot, taken by my professional photographer friend Mike Mc Farlane. I of course remember a lot of Wordsworth, when I come across the word Hebrides.
And now I have a picture to go with the words..
HOW richly glows the water’s breast Before us,
tinged with evening hues,
While, facing thus the crimson west,
The boat her silent course pursues!
And see how dark the backward stream!
A little moment past so smiling!
And still, perhaps, with faithless gleam,
Some other loiterers beguiling.

I stumbled onto this photo this morning. The haunting quality of this photo struck a chord in me for more reasons than just looking at it. you see, two years ago, I had a dream about this place. I for some reason, remember it very vivdly, but didnt know where or what it was. Today, as I pressed the “Stumble it” button in my browser, I was quite taken aback when I saw this photo.

This is quite a simple effect actually.. I took a photo, and pasted it on 2 layers using Serif photo Plus 6.0, my image editing tool. One layer i selected an irregular path and feathered to a 100, and masked it.
The layer below, i applied a radial motion blur. And hey presto, a neat effect resulted. Dont you think so?
Surfing the internet for my usual celebrity gossip and news, and the one interesting similarity that leapt out to me is the resemblance between Mumaith Khan and Beyonce Knowles.
