One cannot call an image directly in wordpress in your theme files. For instance I cannot actually place an image with the command When the page is displayed, nothing happens. This is because of WP taking into account the complete URL and not just referential paths. By providing the correct URL, it would make the task simple. The function getpath(); gets the full base path using the builtin wordpress "TEMPLATEPATH" function. It then substitutes the base path with the URL. Continue Reading

I like to design wordpress themes and change my site look, sometimes as often as twice in a month. To help me with this,  I have incorporated a plugin called theme-switcher. 

Below is the details of the plugin, if you are interested.

Now because of this penchant of mine to design skins, my theme folder is littered with several themes, which I don't want to show.  So yesterday, I sat up really really late, and selected 4 of my favorite themes, and moved the rest.  If I used the plugin as-is, I would end up displaying the i-phone skin as well, with a theme selector.  I didn't want this.   So I ended up tweaking the presentation via CSS to give me more creative control.  I then ended up with the color grid (see below) on each of my skins.

Voila!, I now have four skins for my site... Neat or what?

The passe business model: Colonization, grab raw goods at a locked in price and produce goods at affordable prices to the mother country economy (Exception, George Bush.. Hes trying anyway..). In the internet world, the road to fame and success consists of grab the source code, if possible the entire design and muscle your way up the business world.
