Shantanu Ghosh of Traveller's Tales memed me [Alliterative so I like it..]. I visited Shantanu's blog Travellers Tales in one of my social networking prowls. I fell in love with his writing style and blog. I wanted to participate in the interview. So a couple of emails later, I got this set of questions. So here goes...
Q1. People blog for various reasons, and I have heard many stories and anecdotes on how their lives were positively impacted by blogging. What are your reasons for blogging? Any interesting anecdotes you would like to share?
I blog primarily to communicate, share my thoughts and experiences. I am a xenophile, and enjoy learning about other people and cultures. I started blogging as early as 2001, via Blogger, but it soon petered off, as I was not persistent enough. After a second attempt, it kind of limped along. Last year, was my third attempt. Very soon things came to a karmic head as I discovered MyBlogLog. As and when I got responses, I found myself very interested in writing. So being part of a community helped. To me my writing is a journey of self discovery. Several social networks later [...

I have been trying to get my hands on an offline blog editor/ poster.ÂÂ I tried using Flock's built in editor, but did not like the feel of the option itself.ÂÂ After some internet search, I came across Qumana.ÂÂ

Missing Child Maddie: I have tried to help find Maddie by carrying her story in my blog. Why did I feel sorry? Everyone has a point of connection, and the fact that she shares her birthday with my son, just struck a chord.
Summer Holidays for Miti: Yes we are busy. Now that my son is at home, I have become more relaxed, laid back. We try to do things together. I have now discovered a new passion for dancing in Miti. Both of us like techno and house. So its digging in the sand, biking, at the pool, cartoons. Its pretty idyllic at the moment. But like my son says.. We have 70 days more to go through..;) Yes he is counting.. I am not..
Immigration Bill: The day the proposal was announced, the first thought was why are we even trying to do everything legally? We should have just come on a holiday, and stayed behind.. The illegals have it better. [That I guess was natural envy that another demographic is going to benefit faster.] A few days later I was chuckling. I come from India, where one gets exposed to politics whether inclined or not. The most obvious point ...

Stumbled on this story at Bussinessweek. Designed by portland based Ziba design, in conjunction with Intel, its really nice.
......, code-named Intel mobile Metro notebook, is less than 0.7 inches thick--about one-quarter of an inch thicker than Motorola's (MOT) iconic cell phone, making it the world's thinnest notebook. And at 2.25 pounds, it's also one of the lightest small-sized portable computers. Other features include always-on Internet connectivity via various wireless technologies.
Things that cannot be missed is the obvious targetting of women votes. Accessories with high fashion statements and chick colors are in [Chartreuse, pink, magenta...] Again an Apple pioneered marketing approach. So now they annouce a concept, and see whether people are interested. If yes, then production follows, late this year?
Though designers say the product is unisex, as a fashion accessory it may carry particular appeal to women, a group Intel has long wanted to win over. "Increasingly, women are often the decision makers, particularly with high-end purchases," says Richard Shim, an analyst with IDC. "More and more companies are starting to pay more attention to the female market segment."

I want to commend my new Mybloglog friend Jannos, for his most effective use of the Web2.0 Medium. This is indeed the way I personally would want to use the blog medium, to provide concrete help. He is using his blog, his online communities, to help find a missing child. Here is his original post, and here is the update. Help find Maddie.
Maddie is 0.9m, blonde and from England with an English accent. Her hair might be cut and dyed, but her distinguishable features are her eyes. Her left eye is blue and green and her right eye is g! reen with an odd brown spot in retina. She has a small brown mark on the left leg calf. It is going to take just ONE person to notice something suspicious and give the police the breakthrough they need.If you have any information, contact:
- The Local Police (in your country)
- The Portuguese Police by telephone 00 351 282 405 400
- Crimestoppers (UK) by telephone 00 44 1883 731 336.
